Panasonic TC-P50G10

It is tough to find a Plasma TV that performs well in all areas, yet keeping the price affordable. Panasonic managed to break new ground with the Panasonic TC-P50G10. It offers so many features and perks that can single handedly take on other LCD displays of the same size. This is a plasma TV that is affordable and backed by plenty of technologies making Panasonic’s biggest answer to the ongoing competition among other brands. The G10 Series is basically a more beefed up version of the Viera S1 Series which also happens to be among the 2009 models. It combines the power-saving economical features with THX certification, and great extra features.

Technical Features

The Panasonic TC-P50G10 gives you the freedom to enjoy your favorite movies and shows on full 1080p. But the freedom that it gives is much greater than other 1080p displays because some of them fail in displaying the full 1080 TV lines when high speed motions and action-packed sequences come into play. This is absolutely no problem for the Panasonic TC-P50G10 handle and the 40,000:1 native contrast ratio makes it even better because it enables the TV to reproduce very impressive deep black levels and shadow details. An important thing to remember is that all these enhancements are incorporating while reducing power-consumption at the same time. To add to that, three HDMI inputs and 2 composite video inputs really make it a plasma TV that is ready for anyone.

Actual user review:
” spent about a year researching and continually trying to justify why my 50″ Mitsu projection TV was still worthy. Last week, I finally pulled the trigger and this TV absolutely rocks. I was watching a movie (X-MEN Final Stand) the other night (THX mode) and paused it twice and said to my wife, can you believe this TV is in our house? The NBA playoffs, baseball, hockey, hey I even watched auto racing…Just unreal. I had no idea what I was missing until this TV arrived. I strongly considered the new Samsung LED TV. The 1.2″ depth and picture are very good, but it came down to a few simple things – overall value, absolute amazing picture, best refresh rate and viewing angles. All that and the brightness of LCDs helped me go with plasma and the right decision for me was the G10. This is the one!” – P.D.Peters (USA)

Technologies

The Neo PDP technology represents the true advancement of plasma TV and is directly responsible in a huge bulk of the enhancements that the Panasonic TC-P50G10 includes. This technology makes sure that images stay crisp even during the intense movie and sport scenes. The Neo PDP is the one technology that really stands out and is worth investing on.

Other Features

View Pictures on Picasa Web Album The G10 series is all about satisfying users by putting all sorts of extras to add to the value. Just like the lower-end models, both the VIERA Image Viewer and VIERA Link are part of the extra features. With the built-in SD card slot, you can put your own SD called filled with pictures and let the TV read them and display them using the VIERA Image Viewer. The VIERA Link is completely different by letting it connect to your other Panasonic devices so you can control them all using a single remote. The VIERA Cast that is found in other older high-end displays is included as well allowing access to online content including YouTube, certain Google sites, and Amazon.com. The remote can also be used to navigate through the Internet as long as it stays connected. If you are tired of letting your computer do all the work, you can finally let your TV get into the action.

Amazon video-on-demandOne of the special features about the Panasonic TC-P50G10 is that it has the THX Certification. With years of research and development, THX has created a number of proprietary technologies and programs to constantly improve and enhance sound and visual entertainment experiences. This means that you will be able to experience the movies the way film-makers intended it to be by establishing strict design and engineering requirements for color accuracy, black levels, luminance and other settings. The Panasonic TC-P50G10 is priced towards the upper end for a 50″ display, but definitely not as expensive as the other competing LCDs but the features really speak for themselves.

Actual User Reviews:
I’d read all the reviews and from what everyone else was saying this was a great HDTV. And when you go to a store to look at all the TV’s it really can be a little overwhelming. But when you get this TV home and plug it into your Blu-ray… Holy Smokes! It’s sweet. I was vacilating all over the place between various TVs but once I saw this in my living room I was very happy with my decision. I’m sure there’s alot of other nice TVs out there as well, but one thing’s for sure – they can’t be much better, if at all. Besides, the price on this from Amazon was really impressive – the other TVs I think would compare with it were more expensive. So I feel this is maximum bang for the buck. I’m very Happy with this Panasonic TC-P50G10 TV and with Amazon as a vendor.” – J.Osterman (TN,USA)

I like Plasma TVs much better than LCD TVs. To me LCD looks to bright. I love the dark black levels of Plasma TVs.The picture on this TV is awesome. Standard cable looks the same. But HD cable like ESPN looks awesome. Watching sports in HD is the way to go. I have the video settings configure like CNET settings custom settings. I use the THX setting when watching movies. DVDs looks great. But blu-ray movies look amazing. The Panasonic Viera Cast is great. When more companies signup for this it will get even better. You can see this is the future of TVs. The following have signed up with Panasonic Viera Cast: Amazon on demand. To me you get much more with Netflix.” – P.Larforgia (FL,USA)
