Panasonic TC-L32X1

HDTVs are not constantly increasing in size, but instead are evolving in design and features and the Panasonic TC-L32X1 serves as proof. The Panasonic TC-L32X1 is not a large TV and may not suit people who are looking for a thrilling home entertainment experience, but this small model of the VIERA X1 series shouldn’t be underestimated.

There are some impressive features along with some basic technologies that literally makes the Panasonic TC-L32X1 more than it is worth. And if you look at the simple, but aesthetically pleasing design, it is difficult to tell at first glance that the Panasonic TC-L32X1 is a budget HDTV.

Technical Features

You won’t be getting the 1080p in this particular TV, but you still get the next best thing which is the 720p resolution which should be good enough for watching TV shows and movies alike. If you prefer watching TV from about 4 feet away, you won’t even notice much of the difference in terms of quality. The contrast ratio is just about right at 12,000:1 so there should be no problem in viewing most types of scenes. It even has 3 HDMI ports and a PC input expanding the connectivity options.

The on-screen menu and remote are so user-friendly that I’ve never had to read the owner’s manual. Just take it out of the box, plug it in, turn it on and you’re good to go. Technologies

Many of the 32 inch TVs aim on delivering a decent viewing experience without throwing in any extras to make the deal even sweeter. The Panasonic TC-L32X1, however, manages to incorporate a few nice technologies that are present in the larger and more advanced Panasonic series.

The VIERA Image Viewer is the first of these features where people can use any standard SD card and insert it in the built-in SD card slot. Without much delay, photos can be retrieved from the card and immediately displayed in full color. This feature is very handy for showing photos to others when there is no other card reader, PC, or laptop available. It is much faster to show these photos off on the TV than it is when doing it on the PC. In addition, the Panasonic TC-L32X1 measures 31.5 inches diagonally making it larger than most CRT and LCD computer monitors as well as virtually all the laptop screen sizes.

The second technology is the VIERA Link and what this feature does is it allows full control of any other Panasonic devices to be controlled just by using the same TV remote. This grants control of other devices like Blu-ray players, camcorders, DVD players, and any other compatible Panasonic devices.

Extra Features

Another welcoming feature is the iPod Entertainment Kit that the Panasonic TC-L32X1 comes with. This kit is a universal iPod dock that lets you play all of your stored music and videos through the TV. Onscreen menus make it rather easy to navigate and the remote provides a nice aid.

The Panasonic TC-L32X1 may seem like a regular 32 inch HDTV, but it is perhaps the best TV for people on a tight budget and equally recommended to music lovers and photo sharers. The price of the Panasonic TC-L32X1 is the major selling point here.

• “Bought this from Amazon and it was delivered within 3 days. Excellent picture, fast acting remote (very little delay if any). Best part of all, is the iPod dock. Interestingly enough the product says it’s iPod compatible (iPod Classic, Touch, Nano, etc.) but it also works great with my iPhone 3G and charges the battery. When I plug the iPhone 3G into the dock, I do receive the standard message on my phone that the iPhone isn’t designed to work with this particular item and asks if I want to switch to airplane mode to reduce any interference.
