Panasonic TC-P46G10
The best TV that fits the large crowd is a TV that is balanced with powerful features and power saving features and the new Panasonic TC-P46G10 falls in that category. There are some people that think they have found the right TV because of all the nice features, but end up being disappointed after they find out that it is too big to fit in the room. Also not everyone is willing to pay for a bigger screen if screen size isn’t a major concern. Getting a smaller TV may solve the problem, but usually those TVs are severely stripped down and lack any good features.
When you are looking to buy a TV, you should never pay more than what you really need to and at the same time, you should make sure that the TV specifications have everything that you can make use of. The Panasonic TC-P46G10 sticks out rather well compared to the other TVs including advanced features because it successfully brings a lot of features to the table without making it look too expensive.

Technical Features
The Panasonic TC-P46G10 goes full blast delivering a complete 1080p resolution boasting fantastic image quality and great visually. The 40,000:1 native contrast ratio is a welcome feature resulting to excellent black-level performance and amazing shadow details. The quality is even better when “THX mode” is activated which is one of the exclusive technologies to the G10 series.
“First of all, if you’re considering to buy this monitor, buy it through Amazon. Great price. Free delivery. They set it up for you. The delivery company that Amazon uses to deliver their HDTV monitors is very good in my limited experience (three HDTV purchased online.) Now, this Panasonic monitor itself delivers amazing picture quality. The THX mode is best for watching movies right out of the box.” – G.Jessie (USA)
Technologies
With all of these great features, it could be easy to conclude that this 46” plasma display monster eats up a lot of power. But the special Neo PDP technology avoids that and in fact significantly lowers the power consumption compared to older HDTVs coming from Panasonic and other brands. In addition, that same technology is responsible for the sharp imagery and amazing brightness and deep blacks.
All of the G10 plasma HDTVs including the Panasonic TC-P46G10 are THX Certified for Faithful Movie Image Reproduction. Although there are a lot of TVs that displays movies rather well, none of them manage to achieve cinema-quality. This certification ensures that all of your favorite movies will be seen just as if you are watching in a theater.
The Panasonic TC-P46G10 has some nifty Internet connectivity functions as well allowing people to do productive tasks including checking the daily forecast, watching online videos in YouTube, retrieving pictures from Picasa Web Albums, retrieving financial information from Bloomberg, and watching online movies at Amazon. You can also make use of the VIERA Image Viewer to quickly read the contents of an SD card and display the photos on the big screen.
Extra Features
If THX mode is for movies, “Game Mode” is for video games. The Panasonic TC-P46G10 is a great choice if you want to experience gaming with the best visuals as possible as the “Game Mode” preconfigures the settings so you don’t have to do much tweaking.
With all of these fantastic features of the Panasonic TC-P46G10, it is no wonder this got the Best of CES for 2009.
Actual User Reviews:
• “Amazing TV for the money. After setting the TV up I’m almost thinking I should have purchased the 50″ model but the 46″ was a fantastic price. The colors on this TV are amazing, the picture is just fantastic. THX mode is great and requires very little calibration on my part. Most people will probably put it on THX and leave it forever and that would be a great option too. Plenty of connections on this TV and I was most impressed with the speakers. I haven’t setup my full 5.1 setup yet so I’m just using the TV speakers and they are pretty good for a casual TV watcher. For action movies you’ll want your own tuner and 5.1 setup though. I went with Plasma because the picture was much closer to the CRT I replaced this with. For me, the LCD displays are way too bright. I love this TV, I’ll recommend it and ordering from Amazon to everyone. The VieraCast functions are nice but I could probably live without them. 1080p content looks amazing on this TV.” – M.A.Dobie (USA)
• “I previously owned a LG 47″ LCD television. I have had this 46g10 for about two weeks and it is superior to the LG in every way. I have friends that own LCD’s and they are envious of the colors and picture of this television. Bottom line is, the black levels are great, the color is great, the picture is great, the motion clarity is great. Don’t worry about the supposed “overly green” or “red push” you may read about. The TV looks great. Only equipment is going to pick up those discrepancies. Skin tone seems spot on as does the greens and blues. Standard pictures are also very good. No complaints except week sound, but that is the case for all flat screen TV’s. Not much use out of the Viera cast yet, but love the card reader for looking at pictures. Price for quality, this TV is awesome and Plasma defeats LCD hands down. I will save the fifth star for reliability of which I can’t comment yet. No problems so far.” – M.Richards (OH,USA)
• “I don’t own the equipment to calibrate an HDTV system. I don’t know what the proper operating temperature of the television should be to achieve the perfect color tones. I don’t know where my brightness setting should be to have the deepest blacks but still reserve the brightest image. I know none of this crap. But I do know when a television delivers a great picture, and this one certainly delivers.” – Steve (USA)
