A rather useful feature of the Samsung LN46A850 makes it possible to stay informed of all the latest news, weather, sports, and even stock information thanks to the TV’s Ethernet port in conjunction with the Infolink’s RSS (Really Simple Syndication) service. You can even customize the items you want to see, and eliminate those you aren’t interested in. The PIP, or Picture in Picture feature of the TV allows you to keep an eye on the football game and not interrupt whatever show you may be watching at the time. • “I just got this TV set up and going last weekend and after tweaking all of the settings, this is truly the best TV I’ve ever owned. I previously had a 30 in tube HDTV. The 850 equals all the best qualities of the CRT and has dozens of tweaks to zero in on the best picture for each type of input. I’m getting my HD signal over the air with a UHF antenna. I have my basic cable running through the S Video input since I don’t have any HDMI outputs from my cable box. HD is awesome and standard definition is excellent. What sets this set apart from many others is the USB input. I’ve put my pictures on a thumb drive, plugged it in and wow. My pictures have never looked better and I’ll never look at a 4×6 print again. I have yet to hook up my PC to the TV through the wiselink, but that’s next where I’ll be able to browse and play all of my movie files. Of course you can put your movies on a thumb drive just get an 8 gig for the movie files. This TV does it all and with style. The screen is very good at holding down room reflections and I am not bothered by the reflective trim. • “This TV IS the fairest of them all! Great priced high value television with fantastic color and picture quality. I currently have no desire to upgrade to HD programming with this set, that’s how nice the picture quality is. No faded blacks in this set, easy to calibrate, easy to love. I’m not sure why Samsung has such a shoddy picture when you first connect the set, however as I mentioned before, calibration is easy and you should easily be able to get a good picture. The reduced glare is a huge plus as I have it opposite three very large south facing windows and on the sunniest of days, while there is some reflection, the glare reduction is superior to a regular CRT television(although there is some, but the compromise to this is a sony matte finish glare reduction and the color quality is greatly inferior). The thin frame is AMAZING, wall mounted it sticks out less than 4″ from the wall. Who wants to hang something that sticks out 6-10″ from the wall, that’s just gaudy. The TV is gorgeous and definitely screams quality. The remote is large but I don’t mind, and for those of you who do you can ultimately purchase a universal if desired. I have dish network and have no problems with the remote not working the first few minutes of the television being on however I do not have an HD receiver so this may be why. Honestly even if I had that problem I wouldn’t care enough to complain. After paying only 1589.00 for this set on amazon(after considering the $200 NFL gift certificate I received) I challenge anyone to find a better quality set for even close to this amount of $$, or a thinner set.
