Not all consumers are asking for it, but Samsung knows that people want nice TVs above 50 inches without spending too much. Technical Features
Unlike the old LCD TVs that have 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratios, the new Samsung UN55B6000 outclasses the old lineup with a 3,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. This means that both pure blacks and pristine whites are a lot more emphasized which is ideal for movies with dark scene that show up unclear in other TVs. The picture can be fine-tuned even further just by adjusting the extensive picture controls.
Technologies
The Samsung UN55B6000’s hottest technology is the fact that they are no longer LCD displays, but LED TVs instead. This is a big deal when power savings is a major concern. Although the UN55B6000 does seem more expensive than the other 55” TVs, it does consume 40% less power when compared to a Samsung 2008 LCD model. That spells huge savings in the long run if you use your TV every day. It is entirely free of volatile organic compounds leaving a much smaller carbon footprint which is great for the environment.
On the side, the UN55B6000 manages to incorporate some really good dejudder processing with the Auto Motion Plus 120 Hz technology. Motion blur is virtually absent even when you watch high-speed action scenes coming from movies and sports.
Accurate color is also achieved with the Advanced Color Processing technology allowing a bigger range of natural colors and increased depth making pictures more captivating and realer than ever even when subtle colors are displayed.
Extra Features
The UN55B6000 is coupled with some interesting Internet features as well such as InfoLink RSS Service which is basically a tool that helps retrieve RSS feeds from a number of known sources. It can be easily accessed just by pressing a single button. It supports Ethernet connections and Linkstick connections for people that own a Samsung Linkstick.

Samsung USB 2.0 Multi-media Center – connect your digital camera, thumb drive and MP3 player quickly and easily.
USB connectivity was also boosted as well. Any flash disk or external drive with pictures inside will be displayed clearly on screen all with a new interface called Multimedia Center. It is also capable of playing any mp3 audio files just as if you are playing it on a commercial player.
The Samsung UN55B6000 represents the future of television displays and if many users embrace the new technologies, the environment will be improved. The shiny screen may cause some reflections in bright areas, the fine picture quality and power saving features make up for it.
Actual user review:
“This Samsung UN55B6000 is excellent technology and priced to move. We’ve got it hooked up to a cable box via the 1 component connection and the image is sharp and crispy and the colors are vivid and bright. We have an older PC connected via the VGA connection and the 3.5mm mini audio connection. Internet browser windows come up real sharp in 1920×1280i resolution. I’m also using wi fi and wireless mouse and keyboard. Hi-res images look fantastic. This TV was assembled with web-browsing and computing in mind (Net widget, USB, JPEG and mp3 friendly) and Samsung has nailed it.”
