Its video processor that Sony names the BRAVIA Engine coupled with Advanced Contrast Enhancer circuitry (ACE) gives you deeper blacks and excellent shadow details.  It intelligently identifies and dramatically reduces noise in the signal according to the motion and brightness of each scene for clearer, crisper images.

The 40Z4100 has a variety of picture modes like Standard, Cinema, Custom and Vivid to choose from. These modes can be adjusted as per your preference in color temperature, color saturation, brightness, noise reduction and back light adjustment as well. You also have advance settings like color space usage options. You can also play around with the settings a bit if you want but leaving these settings at factory default works just fine. If you are stuck anywhere, then all you need to do to press the reset option and the factory options will be restored.

If you want to watch those dark mystery movies or horror movies then the KDL40Z4100 will not disappoint. The colors are vivid with a great detail and the contrast is completely natural. Whether you are watching a great sci fi movie, an action movie or gaming, you will find the action sequences smooth without any motion artifacts.

This TV also has a universal remote which can be used to control the other devices as well. You can even connect your laptop to the KDL-40Z4100 through a RGB cable and stereo audio connector.
