Bravia Engine 3

At the heart of BE3 is Sony’s new 1080p Motionflow 240Hz technology that is proven to be one of the most effective anti-blur tools. The system analyzes the motion of specific on-screen objects as well as overall movement in each scene, adjusting the amount of enhancement to create crystal clear pictures. Also included is enhanced playback of 24fps (frames per second) video sources that is now prevalent with many new blu-ray releases.  24p True Cinema support ensures movies can be experienced in its original 24 frame per second format. Unlike its predecessor, the XBR8, the XBR9 does not use LED backlight technology. Technology wise it is more related to the XBR7 series, which utilizes the less dazzling fluorescent backlight instead of the brighter LED technology.
